Shree Ramkrishna Seva manda, Anand,
is more of a movement rather than an institution, The founder
of Shri Ramkrishna Seva Mandal was late Shree
S.S. Patel and it was he who first began
his service to society by setting up Shri Ramkrishna
Seva Mandal in 1954. he was very sensitive to problems
and ills in our society and as a result he thought of the
plight and helplessness of the Aged people. The Anand
Dham
was the result of his deep concern for the Aged People.

Anand
Dham, a home for the
aged was set up in 1989 in conformity with the vision of Shri
Ramkrishna Seva Mandal, ‘Bahujan Hitay,
Bahujan Sukhay’. The foresight of the founders for a
home for the Aged people is relevant in today’s context
because the problem of the aged are not understood by young
generation of today. It is the vision to help the Aged men
and women who have no one to look after them or those who
are disowned and abandoned by their own relatives. It is also
envisaged that those who take shelter at Anand Dham
are to be treated with full human honour and dignity.
The mission of Shri Ramkrishna Seva Mandal
has been to help people from all walks of life in order to
help them face hardships and live like independently. Hence
the home for the Aged renders valuable service to society.

Anand
Dham is situated on
Anand – Nadiad road in the North in the vicinity of
Lambhvel village. Tucked away in the midst of fields, the
place is in peaceful surroundings that are quite suitable
for the Aged People. Anand Dham
is spread over an area of 5 acres of land and has sprawling
precincts that are convered by greenery and garden. That garden
surrounds the R.C.C. structure that is built for accommodation
of the old people. The lush green scenic beauty of Anand
Dham adds to the splendor
of the place. |

......INFRASTRUCTURE |

The
building of Anand Dham
is quite commodious. The rooms are built with a view to
providing ideal residence to old people with all facilities
at hand. Each room can accommodate two persons with beds,
desks, cupboards, kitchen and attached bathrooms. Mosquito
nets are provided on each bed. Facilities like fans, lighting
and twenty four hour water supply are also ensured to make
the life of the inmates convenient and comfortable.
Since the inmates are old people, devices that help pass
time in meaningful way are provided. They can engage themselves
in activities of their liking and choice. A library, nursery,
orchards and animal husbandry are at their disposal to fill
the void which is generally felt in old age. Hygienic and
nutritious food is provided at the central Mess of Anand
Dham.
Old and aged people need health care. This service is given
by Anand Hospital, a sister institution of Shri
Ramkrhsina Seva Mandal, Emergency medical help
is also provided by the management. Religion is the core
of life and great relief in old age. Prayer and meditation
Hall is built to support faith of the inmates where they
can offer worship to the Almighty God.

Old
care homes are typical residences of the aged but Shri
Ramkrishna Seva Mandal sees to it that the inmates
do not feel separated from the society. Therefore a number
of activities are arranged every month. Particularly on days
of religious feasts, programs are arranged when people from
outside join the old people and share joy and happiness with
them. Visitors are also allowed to see the inmates and help
them.
Smt. Jyotsnaben K. Patel, Hon. Secretary,
has upheld the vision of Shree Vakil Saheb
and redoubled the endeavour to bring light and joy in the
life of the inmates. After she succeeded as Hon. Secretary
She launched a new campaign and modernized Anand Dham.
At present thirty persons reside at the place with complete
safety and comfort.
