COLLEGE |

The
college was established in the year of 1964
under the guidance and supervision of the great visionary
Late Dr. Gordhanbhai Shanabhai Patel (Vakil saheb)
and is managed by Shri Ramkrishna
Seva Mandal, Anand. The college is affiliated
to Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar and
is proud to be the only college imparting legal education
in Anand district. The Bar Council of India under
the “Standards of Legal Education and Recognition
of Degrees in Law for Admission as Advocates”
(Part IV of the Bar Council of India Rules) recognizes
the college to offer law courses.

INFRASTRUCTURE AND FACILITY |
The college
has a building for exclusive use during the working
hours having classrooms, common rooms for students and
teachers, ladies room, play ground, library and separate
reading room.

library is well equipped with a large collection
of reference books, Law series, journals, periodicals,
magazines, digests and reports. This collection
is ever growing with regular additions of books
and journals to cater the needs of the students
and to provide them with latest quality material. |

a part of co-curriculum activity , the college
makes necessary arrangements for the academic
interactions and for practical exposure to the
students through visits to High court, Metropolitan
courts, Tribunals, Legal Aid Clinics, Consumer
Redressal forums, NGO’s, Law firms, etc.

| The
college is one of the leading law colleges of Gujarat.
The achievements of college reflects in the fact that
the graduates and post graduates from the college embellish
various positions ranging from the posts of Lecturer
to the posts of judge, J.M.F.C., Legal Managers, Legal
departments, NGO’s, Advocate, Public prosecutor,
Conciliator, legal advisor, Notary, etc.
The collage has honor to provide Conciliators in the
Lok Adalats, organised by Legal Service Authority of
Anand and its faculty members are invited to deliver
lectures on law subjects by various collages, organizations
and institutions.
To foster the overall development of the students, the
college conducts various extra-curricular activities
like Moot court, Elocution, Debate, sports and cultural
programmes.

OPPORTUNITIES |
|
Law provides
numerous career opportunities. With the enactment of
each new law, newer opportunities for the legal profession
are generated. There are now more and more public interest
litigations than ever before. Legal practice is the
first option that comes to one’s mind as soon
as the law studies are completed. Apart from setting
up one’s own private practice, law graduates can
also join law firms or solicitor’s firms. The
firms recruit fresh law graduates who are trained to
work on cases and related matters.
Government jobs offer another avenue for enterprising
law graduates. In order to join the subordinate judicial
services, law graduates have to appear in competitive
examinations conducted by the State Public Service Commissions
in different States. In the state judicial service,
one can move up from J.M.F.C., to a sub-judge to district
judge. After working as a judge for several years, there
is possibility of being selected as a judge of the High
Court. The only alternative route to become a High Court
Judge is a specified number of years in a particular
court as a successful practicing lawyer.
Besides judicial services, many government departments
at both the state and central level require legal experts
as law officers or public prosecutors in law-enforcing
agencies. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)
conducts combined recruitment tests for posts of Assistant
Public Prosecutors. Appointment on the post of Attorney
General or Advocate General is an added opportunity.
The defence services too have their own judicial system
also offer openings to LL.B. degree holders in their
Departments.
